The
Backstage Tour and Traviata
Story
Have
you ever wondered how a stage
show gets put together? Well,
now the mystery can be solved.
Come with us into an exhibition
space where, for the first time,
you can view the amazing process
of design and construction from
props to costumes, sets to lighting.
Hear and see award-winning actress
Louisa So narrate “The Traviata
Story”, a documentary about
the famous opera, La Traviata.
You may even have a chance to
watch the new season of The
Met: Live in HD operas, Macbeth
and Le Nozze di Figaro.
The
Foundation for the Arts and
Music in Asia (FAMA) is joining
the HK Academy for Performing
Arts to give the public a chance
to see what few outside the
theatrical world see - the magic
of theatre creation. And the
best news is that it’s FREE!
The
School of Theatre and Entertainment
Arts of the HK Academy for Performing
Arts will exhibit props, costumes
and designs from many of their
exciting drama and opera productions,
showcasing the excellence of
their teaching, and the
craftsmanship and skill of their
design students. Perhaps you
saw the APA’s productions of
“Marriage of Figaro”, “The
Cunning Little Vixen”, “Cat’s
Town” or “A Midsummer Night’s
Dream”. Here’s your chance
to see close-up their magnificent
costumes, masks, props and set
designs.
From
December 6th 2014 until January
26th 2015 on the 17th floor
of Midtown Soundwill Plaza in
Causeway Bay, a space named
Midtown POP will be transformed
into a magical adventure for
you, a rare opportunity to come
behind the scenes. Perhaps you’ll
catch one of the live performances
given by APA students as well.
